Haus der Geschichte, Stuttgart
The Museum of Baden-Württemberg’s History is the only establishment of its kind throughout Germany. It is devoted to the history and politics of the region and has more than 200 years of the state's history on display. Its goal is to showcase the region in all its facets. The museum was first conceived in 1987. Back then, a task force from the state parliament began drawing up a concept for a state museum. In 1992, it presented its first exhibition. The permanent exhibition has been on display in the new building since 2002 in an area covering 2,100 m² with regular special exhibitions in a 500 m² temporary exhibition space. A particularly important feature of the museum’s exhibitions is that it only showcases original and authentic objects.
